To better serve remote reading amid recent school closings, we have adjusted the dates for OverDrive’s Summer Read program. It will now run April 15 – July 31 with the theme Sora Sweet Reads. This annual program is designed for schools in the US and Canada to encourage students to keep reading all year long. We’re offering thirty free and simultaneous use juvenile and young adult ebooks (and select audiobooks). These titles will be available to participating schools and prominently displayed in Sora so it’s easy for students to find their next sweet read.
If your students read them all, they can always check out more books from their public library without ever leaving Sora.
Storytelling is an ancient and valuable art that extends around the globe. In this unit, students develop their own storytelling talents, apply the techniques of storytelling, create storytelling guides, and perform a story for an audience.

Describe the setting of your book:
The setting is usually at Green Gables which is a house with plants all around it. It's in Charlettown P.E.I. The story happened a long time ago.
Who are the main characters?: Anne Marilla Matthew Diana Gilbert
Type a brief summary of your book:
Marilla and Matthew from Green Gables wanted to get an orphan boy to help with work, so they sent word.On the day the train came with the other orphans on it Matthew got there half an hour late and found out he got a very talkative orphan girl. On the way to Green Gables the girl saw lots of things she thought was beautiful and talked a lot which Matthew liked because he didn't like being part of conversations. when they got home, Marrila didn't want to keep her and that made the girl cry. They found out her name was Anne and after she went to bed Matthew convinced Marilla to keep Anne. Anne is curious, has a big imagination and tries to be good but always gets into trouble. She calls nice people kindred spirits and she found a really good friend named Diana (who she calles a kindred spirit) and she hangs out with a lot. There is a guy at school named Gilbert who she didn't like and competd with. There was a pass list for school and Anne and Gilbert tied for first place. At the place they passed to Gilbert was the medelist(I think that means 2nd best) but Anne won the avery(I think that means best). At the end of the story Matthew died of shock when he found out that the bank with all their money in it broke. Marilla went to the eye docter and found out if she read sowed or didn't wear a certain pair of glasses she would become blind. But she wasn't alone because she had Anne.

Who would you recommend this book to? Why?
My little cousin because she likes books like this.
Imagine a night when you can ride your bike right up the stairs to your bed. Imagine a night when your toy train rumbles on its tracks out of your room and roars back in, full sized, ready for you to hop on for a nighttime adventure. Imagine a night when a farmer plays a lullaby on his fiddle, and his field of sunflowers begins to dip and sway to the rhythm. Imagine a night when ordinary objects magically become extraordinary...a night when it is possible to believe the impossible. With the intrigue of an Escher drawing and the richness of a Chris Van Allsburg painting, renowned Canadian artist Rob Gonsalves depicts that delicious time between sleep and wakefulness, creating a breathtaking, visual exploration of imagination and possibility that will encourage both children and adults to think past the boundaries of everyday life, and see the possibilities beyond.
