Updates for BCI Staff & Students

Mrs. Turner's Tips & Tricks:

Having trouble getting your students to cite their sources?  I have good news for you!  Here are 4 tips & tricks to help:

  1. Visit the VLC "How do I cite my sources?" and find teaching tools about plagiarism, Copyright, Creative Commons, and citation information, including targeted online citation style manuals and free citation generators.
  2. Did you know that our databases will auto-generate citations for whatever articles/sources your students are reading?  For more information please come talk to me.
  3. Did you know that you can have access to Turnitin for your class room?  This is an amazing online resource that you and your students can use to help improve their writing and decrease their chance of plagiarizing.  To get an account please email me.
  4. Try using the "Reference" feature in MS Word.  It will generate citations for you.  Your students simply need to enter the correct information.  There is a demonstration below.  Use the "Help" button in Word for more assistance.
