What's It Like?
Norway is located in the continent of Europe. Norway shares land borders with three different countries, which are Finland, Sweden and Russia. The country is very beautiful and is filled with wonderful things to do, like sightseeing and kayaking the lakes. Norway is also very bilingual, with six commonly spoken languages. Norwegian is the first language of 95% of the population, but Swedish and Danish are also fluently spoken by most. German is yet another language that is spoken in Norway. But don't worry, English and French are taught widely in schools and are two of the most common languages in Norway. The three biggest and most popular cities in Norway are Oslo, the capital, Bergen, the second largest city, and Trosmo, where you can whale watch and feed the reindeer. Due to the warning of the northern Gulf Stream, Norway enjoys a fairly mild climate, with summer days reaching temperatures of 30ºC. However, during the winter months, temperatures can drop to below 25ºC, yet the sun is almost always shining. Also, much like Canada, the most common mode of transportation in Norway is cars, but to travel quickly from one side of the country to the other there are ferries, pipelines, boats, airplanes, helicopters, buses and trains. And don't worry, the country of Norway has a wide variety of delicious foods, like the Laks Og Eggerore, Kjottaker and Farikal. These three are, in my opinion, three of the best Norwegian foods.
